When visiting Far North Queensland, visitors are amazed by the natural beauty of the dense Cairns rainforest.
Probably the most visited rainforest area in the far north is that of the Daintree Rainforest. It is one of the oldest rainforests in the world, and is partially protected by the Daintree Nationsl Park.
You will find the Daintree to the north of Cairns near Port Douglas. It is one ot the mosr diverse and beautiful examples of nature in the world, being home to the largest range of plants and animals on earth. It is also the largest rainforest in the country, spanning over 1200 square kilometers.
The Daintree is World Heritage listed for good reason; holding the largest number of rare and plants and species in the world. Some of which are nearing extinction.
