Head Race and Penstock
Divided into 3 parts

1. Intake – at the crest of falls
2. Head race from intake to water lock – steel tube 600mm wide and approx 15m long
3. Water lock – square shaft approx 1.2m by 1.2m and 1.5m depth with overflow sill as spillway
4. Penstock from water lock to turbine, 250mm steel tube approx 12m length.

Condition
Flooding at time of inspection made the intake invisible. Condition not established.
600mm steel tube of the head is missing
Water lock and associated civil works in good condition.
Penstock is unserviceable
Some sections appear to have been replaced in the past
The penstock will have to be completely replaced.
