From the road and the front entrance Paronella Park looked like many other Cairns tourist attractions.
However when I entered and walked around the beautiful and peaceful paths, and saw an amazing amount of wild birds, flowers, butterflies, animals and feel the majesty and peace of the huge trees, the power of the waterfall and the depth of the history surrounding the buildings, I came away in awe of the dream that Jose had in the past and the people who work so hard to keep that dream alive today.
I have been 4 times and each visit was different, with improvements constantly being made and different aspects shown at different times of the year. One major highlight was staying in the adjoining caravan park and doing a late night walk with a tour guide and an early morning walk on my own.
It is the best destination for any tourist visiting Cairns and I often sit in cold Melbourne day-dreaming about the wonders and wishing I could just be magically transported back again
