Haether & Les were told about Paranella Park by a friend who had been there once, and lost the photos, so after going back the 2nd time and showing us the photos, we had to go and see it for ourselves. We were up that way last August, and it was the most awesome part of our trip. At first we didn't quite know what to expect, but when we got there we were truly amazed. We went on the tour during the day, had a little exploration by ourselves and listened and watched the Aboriginal dance. We then thought we would stay on and take in Paranella Park at night, and what a difference experience that was to the day. We loved Paranella Park so much that when we got home, after buying the book and the DVD everyone was told about it. We even stayed at the Mena Creek Pub for the night which added to the experience. I have recommended to everyone that I had spoken to that if they are ever going up to Cairns that they have to take in the experience of the fantastic tropical rainforest situated at Mena Creek, by the name of Paranella Pk. We are heading back again this year, it was great, but this time we will be staying at the Park in our caravan.
I bought souvenirs, which we have enjoyed colouring in, the book and the dvd, and the butterfly mobile, so as to be reminded what a supurb, enchanted place it is. The history was so interesting and the staff are excellent. I was so excited to hear that the hydro pump project is being addressed and am looking forward to the progress reports, and was very excited to hear about the Government Grant. We gave a donation at the time, and if we could have done would have given a lot more. We travelled for two weeks and I am still talking about Pranella Park to everyone I come across. It really is a magnificent hidden jewel, and one that Australia should be extremely proud to have. Can't wait to be there again,
cheers
