To Paronella Park
When we travelled along the East Coast of Queensland we saw some ads for Paronella Park and in fact a family friend told us it was worth a visit. We travelled past going north but decided to come and visit on our way south. What we found was something more than we could ever have expected. In fact, we stayed for a week and visited every day and did most night tours as well. The setting with the waterfall, the old buildings, the castle and old fountains are the main feature you see and can admire straight away. These took our breath away and the beauty of the surroundings is captivating. On top of that we time and again enjoyed being in the park every day and most night tours enjoying nature and all its creatures. The local aboriginals put on a show during the day and we joined them almost for every performance. The entire staff always went out of their way to show with pride the history and all the features of Paronella Park. All in all, we enjoyed the entire week there, we had found a paradise where no one would expect to find this. My wife is Spanish and especially for her the whole place had a special nostalgic appeal, knowing this had all been created by a Spaniard, so far away from home. Even tough I am Dutch I too felt an affinity to the whole atmosphere of old world charm at Paronella Park. These words can not adequately describe the beauty and the effect this place had on both of us. It is the most charming and enchanting place we have visited in Australia. Thanks to all involved with keeping this place so much alive and beautiful.
