Apologies for not getting back to you sooner regarding your request for a testimonial.  We only arrived back from holidays on Friday 25th January and only had a week till our children went back to school and all the cleanup required from being away.

I heard about Paronella Park only last year through my Brother-in-law and he very kindly lent me his book that he had purchased a few years ago.

My husband Rodney and I had visited Cairns in October 1989 and since then have not been back.

When I read the book I just knew that I had to go there on our drive from Cairns to Townsville.  I was very intrigued and my imagination was sparked to know that such a place existed and I couldn’t wait to see the “Castle”. 

Also I felt that it would be good for our two girls to see such an oasis existed and that Mr Paronella had put so much love and dedication into such a project.  Also when he finished building his dream that he was so very generous in sharing such a place with the public.  It is a pity that sharing these days is not on a lot of peoples agendas.

When we left I felt very peaceful and in awe that through all the tragedies that has happened to the park since Mr and Mrs Paronella have built it that so much is still standing and that so many people care that it should be brought back to how it was when it was first created.

I can’t wait till we return to Cairns for a holiday as I will certainly re-visit the park again and again.
